Many years ago, I traveled to an unnamed African country for work. After scheduled meetings I was to have a weekend off at the location. I had excitedly researched all the sights beforehand thinking I would have plenty of time to explore. However, my plans were cut short.
In February last year, I decided to take the leap and leave my steady, permanent job to try something new. Many people said I was brave. Looking back, I think they meant foolhardy.

Now that travel is restricted to nearby areas, many people are looking for places to visit locally. A few years back, Marion and I visited the Lake Tuusula region. The area is famous for its’ beautiful lake and rich cultural and historical heritage.
It’s been so long since I took part in a Friendly Friday post that I feel quite rusty. This week’s topic is fun and oh so current, so I can’t resist taking part.
It feels absurd to be writing this post from the reality that is now. Just four weeks ago I was on holiday in Thailand enjoying time with my family. At the time the coronavirus was a faraway though. Fast forward to today and the coronavirus pandemic on everyone’s doorstep.
We started our last day with an early breakfast at the Travelodge and then made our way to Westminster Abbey which was one of the top things to see on my son’s list.
